Scare at the Census Bureau’s Washington HQ
Thankfully, everything is okay! Here’s the scoop from The Washington Post:
Security officers at the U.S. Census Bureau’s office on Silver Hill Road in Suitland placed the facility on lockdown for about an hour this morning after a carjacking suspect allegedly jumped a security fence outside the government facility.
Census officials heightened security at the Suitland Federal Center from 11:25 a.m. until around 12:20 p.m. after a suspect allegedly involved in a carjacking at the Suitland Metro station was chased by Metro Transit police. That suspect, who was later apprehended, jumped one of the fences located on the Census property, says Census spokesman Stephen Buckner. Buckner said no one at the facility was injured.
