Formerly the non-partisan watchdog of the 2010 US Census, and currently an opinion blog that covers all things political, media, foreign policy, globalization, and culture…but sometimes returning to its census/demographics roots.
Do you know we were never actually told whether we had Labor Day off from my ELCO Census Office? We requested confirmation from our RCC that we would indeed have the holiday off and were told someone would “get back to us on that”. Though we were never expressly told whether our office was required to be open on Labor Day, we opted to not come to work. You’d think that the Census would have a straight-forward policy regarding government holidays, but no one appeared to know.
