My Two Census

Formerly the non-partisan watchdog of the 2010 US Census, and currently an opinion blog that covers all things political, media, foreign policy, globalization, and culture…but sometimes returning to its census/demographics roots.

The above site provides details about the recent class action hiring lawsuit. Ah, America’s lawyers embracing technology to make a quick buck. Love it.

I live in Texas and want to join the lawsuit. I am an experienced Census employee – having worked 1990, 2000 and 2009. I trained to work again last month and have yet to be called DESPITE my stellar experience. I see Census employees working my area who don’t even live in the county and the Census CONTINUES to test. When I contacted John Bethea, head of Dallas 2010 Census he stated Veterans and handicap will always get the green light over those who are not veterans or handicap. The computer does NOT recognize experience, good work performance or training. This is discrimination against those of us who are not veterans or handicap. It is also a terrible waste of tax payers money!
