My Two Census

Why is Dwight Dean still on the 2010 Census payroll?

A quick search of the Commerce Department web site reveals that Dwight Dean is still employed by the Census Bureau even though he has long been removed from duty as the director of the Detroit region. Numerous tips have come in to the MyTwoCensus inbox with allegations that Mr. Dean engaged in substantial amounts of illegal activities while he was on the job.

From the directory:

Dean, Dwight P CENSUS Dwight.P.Dean@census.gov +1 313 259 1158

Note: I have tried to get through to Mr. Dean numerous times by telephone but I suspect that part of the reason that I was unable to get through is that Mr. Dean permitted his secretary’s husband to be hired as a supervisor for the 2010 Census (can you say NEPOTISM and CRONYISM) after other hardworking individuals were wrongfully fired by Mr. Dean.  Getting past a crony gatekeeper isn’t easy…

MyTwoCensus has successfully removed other corrupt officials from office like Joseph Aramanda in Chicago and Rafael Dominguez in New York, and we will get to the bottom of this issue as well.

    Morse, you are an idiot!

You know Dean was removed from the position through previous information provide by census PIO, newspaper articles, and postings on your own website. You suggest you can’t get through to him because his secretary’s husband was hired by the Census? That logic doesn’t even make sense. My guess is that you can’t get through to Dean at the office because he currently doesn’t work there.

FYI, James Christy is the Acting Regional Director in Detroit according to the Census Bureau: http://www.census.gov/regions/detroit/

For some time I have read with skeptical curiosity your “reporting,” and I use that term in quotes for an obvious reason, on the activities of the Census Bureau’s work on the 2010 Decennial Census. One example in the past where the degree of inaccurate reporting from this source is particularly extreme is your characterization of recent events with the staff in the Detroit Region. While I’m not the only one who knows that these descriptions are mostly incorrect, and in critical aspects, completely untrue, others so far have not chosen to respond.

Silence unfortunately leaves the reader with a seriously distorted impression of the ‘truth’ about the Agency and its staff, and reduces the public’s ability to make correct judgments about the veracity of these stories. Honestly, from my personal awareness of the many activities recently reported in this source, the statements are so seriously distort and misrepresent the important work of the Agency and the staff, that as a reader I find little truth here to even begin to build correct understanding.

If you were committed to provide your readers serious, factual, truthful, and honest information, they would be better served by thorough research and documentation from accredited sources and available information that accurately characterize the nature and the process of the Agency’s work and staff.

If you seek to provide editorial comment and opinion on the way the Agency performs its work, then present it correctly as opinion, speculation, or a personal point of view, and make an honest distinction when your statements move from fact to opinion to unfounded speculation. While I value and defend the free and open exchange of creditable information to support accurate understanding of important public processes, my concern remains.

If each of your reports are as loose with their facts, and the personal speculation continues to be as misleading and incorrect as I know these recently to be, your readers are correct to genuinely question how much of the vast majority of information from this source is of any serious value beyond fictional entertainment.

Lynn, I’ll at least give him credit for stating his source for readers to review and point out the bogus source. It’s better than those “MyTwoCensus Investigations” that made ridiculous unsubstantiated claims for which he would never divulge additional information.
